Summers Winding Down....

I am so happy that Summer is almost over! It is tooo hot and as Sachyl would say "So bo-wing". Sachyl has been bummed that sh hasn't been able to do all the things that Sawyer can do simply because she is only 3 so when I saw that the chapel here in base housing was having a Vacation Bible School for all ages I asked her if she was interested. She was- she went all week and had so much fun- Sawyer was so over it because he has already been twice this Summer so it was nice to see her enjoy something all her own. We had a ton of fun at our friend Maizys 6th b-day and last night we went to Family Game Night hosted by Lincoln Military Housing. Joe ended up not going because he was just recently cleared to play sports again since his December knee surgery, and went to play baseball for his ship. I was completely fine with that since at least he was out of the house and doing something I know he loves.. Yes u guessed it, he came home injured.......dislocated finger but he is playing again tonight....THEN he will go to the doctor tomorrow........anyhoooooo- at game night the kids played Ms. Pacman, Galaga, Space Invaders all the junk I used to play in junior high and YES I still have it!! We also played Trouble- Crazy 8's and Monopoly jr. They got bored quick and wanted to move on to what was next.
Sawyers K orientation is Friday and I have been instructed by my neighbor Vicky that I HAVE to join PTA so I guess I will be a PTA mom now...I feel guilty that I never joined when Devyn was little but as I look back, I really couldn't- I did work u know...but I did volunteer to help in the library at the High School this year. I have to have her go out with a bang!! Sachyl , we decided should stay at her Tiny Tots and not move her to TLC pre-school- Its a huge savings financially and she loves it where she is. Plus she is 3. Not a whole lot of difference at all between the two schools really........I have also decided that on top of cutting out caffeine which I have been caffeine free for almost 2 months now that I will make fruit smoothies and and try to eat really healthy now- I even nixed the de-caf- seriously, watch You Are What You Eat on BBC America and it will change the way anyone looks at food. That is my helpful hint for the day :) ENJOY

Reunion n junk

So we went to nanas for my 20 year HS reunion and it was too fun!! I was nervous at first, still feeling a little 14 but it was really fun. Joe had a good time too- he made some friends. It was funny to hear peoples memories of things and of you that u just do NOT remember. Example , ahem, Mark Montenez evidently really wanted my Mork from Ork pants and suspenders in 5th grade ( of course who wouldn't??) The girls all looked fantastic and some of the guys looked ok too- it was just really fun and I encourage anyone to go to theirs. :) Earlier in the day we went ice skating at the L.A. Kings practice rink. It was a belated B-day present for sawyer. He did ok, he was determined to do it but Sachyl looked like Mumble from Happy Feet. They were going a mile a minute. i think she was trying to stand and 'walk' not glide. Joe fell a bunch HAHAHAHHA!! I however did not! HA.
Sawyer just started Radical Reptile camp at the Y. It is a week long and 3 of the 5 afternoons they swim. Well i picked him up yesterday and he looked rough!! The chlorine was buring gis eyes and he was sunburned on his little nose and just plain tired but he had fun though. He was really eager to do the homework of finding reptile pictures to bring in.
Devs camp was awesome- she hiked and rafted and climbed rock walls.....she is interested in maybe being a counselor out there next year. That would be really cool. She didn't take her camera though:(

Summer

So I am new to this blogging thing- I will just start with a re-cap of our summer so far.
When Joe returned from his 2 months in South America in June ( his bday) he took the kids to MO. they had a BLAST!! Sachyl loved collecting eggs from the chicken coop and playing with her cousins....everyday since their return they say they want to go back. I wen to PS for a few days while they were gone to relax...
We are staying busy- they go to the library for the different programs they have for the summer like magicians and insect shows etc...Sawyer went to Vacation Bible School at 2 churches here in town- he liked the evening one at the Baptist church. We went to Sea World for Joes Command picnic and we have 2 birthday parties coming up that they will go to- Sachyl is still in tiny tots, she will start pre-school on Sept 9th and Sawyer will start Kindergarten on Sept.2nd WOW!!

Devyn is working at Vons and usually works at The Starbucks there- she works a lot and his making some money :) She is currently in N.C. at a camp for teens with military parents.....it should be fun and good for her too. She will be a senior in September (OMG).
Joe is still in the engine room of the USS Boxer they are planned to "go away" on January 5th (2 days before Sachyls 4th bday) for 6-9 months :( so we are just going to enjoy the Fall and the Holidays until then.  My 20 year reunion is tomorrow so we will be going to that and taking the kids Ice Skating first-
This was just a quick recap of whats been going on lately:) I will have more detailed "events" from here on out- ENJOY
